Examination Card 21 Everybody likes tasty food but it is not always tasty. Talk about the following:
A lot of people nowadays are very busy at work and do not have enough time to cook at home, so they buy semi-finished food products at supermarkets or eat out at fast-food restaurants. Such food is very tasty but, unfortunately, it is not healthy. For example, semi-finished food products contain different chemicals which make the food tasty and attractive to customers. These chemicals, however, are harmful for health. Another example is fast food. It contains a lot of fat and does not have any vitamins, so people who eat too many hamburgers or hot-dogs often have problems with their health. They become overweight and often lose interest to life. It’s easy to stay healthy and energetic, however, if you eat healthy food. Healthy food means lots of fruit and vegetables in the first place. Oranges, apples, cabbage and carrots provide you with vitamins. Also, you should have some cheese and milk every day. These foods give your body calcium to build bones. In addition, you should eat some meat several times a week because proteins are very important, too. Finally, you should regularly eat cereals if you care about your health. However, even useful food can become harmful if it is not properly cooked. For example, boiled, baked or grilled food is much healthier than fried food. Also it’s not good to overcook vegetables and use too much salt in your dishes. To sum up, if you follow these simple rules, you will forget about any food-related diseases. | |
