Dear Mr. and Mrs. Brown,

In my first letter to you I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lena and I am fifteen years old. I am quite tall and slim with long dark hair and blue eyes. I am in the ninth grade and I am a good student. I think I am a sociable person as I like talking to people and enjoy going out with friends.

My family isn’t large but it’s very friendly. I’ve got a mother, a father and an elder sister called Ann. My parents are doctors and they work at a local hospital. My sister is a student at Kiev University and she lives in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. 

Ukraine is a large beautiful country in the central part of Europe. I live in Nikolayev, a big town close to the Black Sea. In summer, my family and I often go to the seaside by car. One of the best places to visit in our town is Nikolayev Zoo. It is the best Zoo in Ukraine. I love my town because with its green parks, its beautiful river and its wide streets it makes a nice place to live.

My weekdays are usually very busy but I have some free time at weekends. In my free time I like reading books or watching TV. However, my real hobby is gymnastics. I first went in for gymnastics when I was seven years old. I’ve already taken part in several competitions and I have won several prizes.
